NORCAL COLLECTIVE
Norcal Collective is a collaborative ensemble of North Californian based
musicians; Dahveed Behroozi - piano, George Ban Weiss - bass,
Tim Bulkley – drums, and Jacam Manricks – saxophones.
Having all served extended tenures on the New York City Jazz Scene, with the exception of Ban-Weiss who performed in LA for many years, each of these four musicians have performed with some of the most important musical artists of our time.
The ensemble performed at the CLARA Auditorium last September offering fresh takes on Jazz standards, arrangements of music from other genres, as well as original compositions.

"I had the pleasure of having drummer Clarence Penn and bassist Matt Penman in town for a recording and a couple gigs with Joe Gilman and myself in late January. While I’m not usually into releasing videos of live shows with low audio quality the music that
night was pretty accommodating. So I decided to throw them up on youtube for a minute. A high quality recording of these tracks (with these musicians) will soon be available on my upcoming release. Stay tuned for free samples and news about that."
